Meeting an old friend

Today I met an old friend.  (meeting an old friend??)  Well, she certainly didn't know me but I knew her from following her wonderful blog, Life in Liguria, for the last year.  In one of her posts she said she was missing sciarrechi and hoisin sauces from the U.S.  So I picked up some before I left home....and have been carting them all over the place.  Today they met their destination!

Christina was originally from New Jersey but is now an expat living in Monterosso, Italy.  She works at one of her boyfriend's family restaurants, Cantina de Miky (which is a fabulous place as is their other restaurant,  Ristorante Miky).   So I went there for lunch and waited to meet her.

She actually shed tears!  She must have really been missing those sauces!  We got to visit for awhile and she sweetly bought us a drink and gave me a ceramic anchovy that someone in the Miky family makes for a local shop.

What fun!
