Is everyone from Down Under?

We are staying in a camera, which is a room.  It's not a hotel (there's only four rooms) and it's not a bed & breakfast (cuz there's no breakfast). It's a camera.  We absolutely love the place!  There's a large balcony on the top floor which has amazing views of the Ligurian Sea...and it's also where we met some great people.

(We so enjoyed our evenings with our Aussie friends.
Grant, Di, me, Larry, Sam, Nathan, Marti, Keith)

Each evening the four couples would gather together to watch the beautiful sunsets....and enjoy a glass of wine...or two....  But it just so happened that all three of the other couples were from Australia (they had never met before).  So we were "the odd couple" (not that this is the first time we've been considered odd).

We had great conversations but my favorite is one I've entitled, "Bono and the Body Bag".  Grant and Di told this story of how they were in Nice and supposed to meet some friends at a hotel.  They couldn't find the hotel and they weren't getting much help from the locals.  They were just told "the beach". So they headed towards the beach and they still couldn't find the hotel or better directions.  So they just started walking down the beach...I guess they assumed the hotel would magically appear.  They started to hear some lively music so they headed towards the rhythmical beat.  There they were greeted by young girls in skimpy bikinis and stilettos dancing the night away.  The men were older and had "George Hamilton faces"...you know the look...botoxed to the max, orange skinned, and unnaturally bright white teeth.

The mixologist, of Tom Cruise style, asks if they want a drink.  Grant orders a beer and takes out his wallet...only they don't want money!  Seems they've stumbled upon a private party of the rich and beautiful.  He quickly hides his tourist cap and orders another drink.  Then they turn around and see Bono enjoying his evening....and notice the many luxury yachts just off shore.  Well, if you're going to crash a party, they chose a good one!

So then Nathan says, "Well, our arrival was uneventful....except for the body bag."  Huh?  It seems their train had to stop because there was a body on the tracks that had to be removed. Huh?  Well we didn't even attempt to top their stories!

(The ladies enjoying a good gab.)

(We loved our times on the balcony.)

(Manarola is stunning at night.)

P.S.  During our last dinner in Manarola, we met another two lovely couples.  Where were they from?  You guessed it...Australia!!

(just another sunset...sigh!)
