We wake up to a rainy day in Paris. What to do? What to do?
Hmmmm.....shopping! We have learned from last night's rainy adventure that we
should get a cab. Walking, and getting lost in a deluge, is not the best way to
spend one's hours in Paris.
So we head to Galleries Lafayette, an amazing store with seven floors and a
stained glass dome in the middle. So gorgeous! Even if you don't want to shop,
you have to visit this place just to see it! (There's actually three buildings
to this store, but we're just visiting one of them.)

Jacque had quietly mentioned that she'd like to get some macarons during our
stay. Today seems like a good day...if we can get to those cookies before we're
drowned! We find out they have some of the famous Laduree macarons at the
neighbor store, Printemps. I've heard about the fabulous windows at Printemps
so I'm anxious to check it out. The windows are truly fabulous and Jacque finds
her macaron treasure! We are both quite happy, but Jacque is near delirious! I
never knew how happy a cookie could make a girl!

Side Note: When we were back in Tuscany, Shirley, our culinary instructor told us about some old
Italian wives tales. One was that if a woman went out with wet hair she'd develop a hunchback. Of
course, I laughed at this silliness. But today I witnessed that there might be some truth to this tale.
Jacque had had wet hair whilst we were out and about and now she seems to have developed a hunchback along with a serious abscess. Oh no! Actually...Jacque had put her raincoat on over her backpack-purse which had a Coke sticking out of the top. BTW...she's drooling over macarons at the time.
Back to my story of the day...after some very wet shopping adventures, we head back to get ready for our Bateaux Mouche dinner cruise on the Seine. I was looking forward to this evening, but with the rainy weather I'm not sure how this evening will turn out. But the waning stormy skies are beautiful!
And then God blesses us with beautiful weather and we enjoy much of the evening on the roof deck of the boat. What a delightful and romantic evening!
